Outgoing Ambassador Pommersheim brought the US closer to Tajikistan's security apparatus

On 2 December, the American embassy in Dushanbe announced the departure of the US Ambassador to Tajikistan, John Pommersheim. Since his nomination in January 2019, he has worked closely with President Emomali Rahmon, who took power 28 years ago, to strengthen cooperation with the country's military and intelligence agency.
