GCHQ

GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters), Britain’s equivalent of the NSA, is responsible for communications interceptions on behalf of the British government and the military. It often works in tandem with its US counterpart and it was tarnished by the Edward Snowden affair, which brought to light many of the joint monitoring programs it operates with the US such as Prism and Tempora.
