The DGSI (Direction Generale de la Securite Interieure), previously known as the DCRI, is the French internal intelligence agency. It is in particular responsible for fighting terrorism in France. It comes under the wing of the ministry of interior. It gathers what used to be France’s general intelligence services, RG (Renseignements Generaux) and the DST (Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire).
Bernard Squarcini, the Mr. Fix-it of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy and former head of the French domestic intelligence service (DCRI, now DGSI), has also worked in the business sector.
