The DGSI (Direction Generale de la Securite Interieure), previously known as the DCRI, is the French internal intelligence agency. It is in particular responsible for fighting terrorism in France. It comes under the wing of the ministry of interior. It gathers what used to be France’s general intelligence services, RG (Renseignements Generaux) and the DST (Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire).
In its annual report at the end of September, the Parliamentary Intelligence Committee recommended 59 amendments to the 2015 Intelligence Act. Some of the proposals are very different from those put forward by the MPs Larrivé-Kervran-Mis fact-finding mission in June. [...]
