MIT to create "its" intelligence agency in Libya

Turkey’s MIT or Milli Isthabarat Teskilati (National Intelligence Organisation) was founded in 1965. It handles internal and external intelligence-gathering for the Turkish government. For many years the MIT was operated by the army but it is opening more and more to civilian personnel too and is cooperating increasingly with US and Russian intelligence agencies.
Deployed in Libya since the beginning of this year, some of Turkey's proxy forces taken from the front lines in Syria are standing up to the MIT, the Turkish intelligence force that they are supposed to be taking orders from, even going so far as to defect. [...]
