Academi, the former-XE Services better known by its former name Blackwater, was founded in 1997 by Erik Prince, an ex-Navy SEAL. Under its former name, the company has provided private security services to the US government bodies including the CIA, the Department of State and the Department of Defense. It now belongs to the Constellis Group, a key player in the sector.
