The treason of a former assistant accused of spying for Beijing has tarnished the image of Joseph Wu, the director of Taiwan's intelligence coordination agency. With his position weakened, he is struggling to push through reforms needed for Taipei to deal with Chinese interference.

French SME Turgis et Gaillard is poised to supply the technology for the French defence ministry's planned drone factory in Ukraine, to be built in partnership with Renault. The project is still in its infancy.
