The spying for China scandal involving close associates of Joseph Wu, secretary-general of Taiwan's National Security Council (NSC) and foreign minister from 2018 to 2024, has created a witch-hunt atmosphere that extends beyond the NSC, which coordinates the actions of intelligence agencies and security forces as well as the defence and foreign ministries.
