The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has carved a place for itself internationally as an alternative to Boeing thanks to the success of the A330, the A350 and the A380. The company is a merger of French, German and Spanish aircraft makers. As well as its civil activity it has military projects such as Eurofighter Typhoon, in partnership with BAE Systems, the A400M transport aircraft and also combat and transport helicopters. The company also has space programmes.
