Former ANSSI chief Patrick Pailloux is due to step down as head of the DGSE's technical directorate at a time when the external intelligence service is in the throes of an organisational rethink.

Patrick Pailloux is poised to step down as head of the technical directorate, or DT, of the DGSE, France's external intelligence service, to join the Conseil d'Etat on 14 July. The DT, which has become increasingly central to the French intelligence community, is currently in the throes of a major overhaul and there is much agitation in the corridors
