This autumn France will host a slew of conferences and symposia devoted to intelligence. On the agenda are ‘global chaos' and the tenth anniversary of the country's 2015 law governing intelligence services' activities.

In a major security setback for the new government in Damascus, the 22 June attack on a church in the capital has put the Syrian intelligence service on high alert. It has also further strained relations with the Syrian Democratic Forces, who have denied any responsibility.
