The rail sabotage that France suffered on the opening day of the Paris Olympic Games has been afflicting Ukraine for several weeks. Surveillance operations, cyber attacks, air strikes and sabotage orchestrated by Russia are undermining its rail network, a vital link between Kyiv and its allies.

Parties affected by the 2019 bankruptcy of Latvia's PNB Banka are still fighting it out in courts. Grigory Guselnikov, the former bank owner, has aimed accusations at the Latvian government while himself being the target of claims made by one of his former business associates.
