Abu Dhabi secures exclusive rights to Ukrainian Shahed interceptors

The United Arab Emirates has secured exclusive access to the Shahed drone interceptors made by Ukraine's Skyfall, beating out Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The first deliveries arrived last week, but their deployment is hampered by a lack of operators and incomplete integration into local command systems.

A Franco-Russian citizen has been invited to take part in a panel discussion on foreign interference at the 2026 edition of a Moscow security conference. His inclusion in the line-up is a snub for Paris, which considers him to be an agent of influence working for Russia.

France's SGDSN defence and national security secretariat has split the extra funding it has received since September 2025 to combat hybrid threats between its four operators ANSSI, Osiic, GIC and Viginum.
