Titanium is a highly strategic material for the aerospace industry in France and beyond. While Airbus and others have turned to Kazakh suppliers to replace Russian titanium, a lawsuit involving a French businessman who controls over 10% of global production is throwing the sector into uncertainty.

With "lethality" having become the new watchword within the US defence department, lawmakers from across the political divide, several of whom have served in naval intelligence, are pushing Congress to train more linguists in the armed forces.

Consultant Alain Bauer is to leave the chair of criminology at the prestigious Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in late September, 16 years after it was created. The process of recruiting a successor has begun through a committee chosen for its independence.
