Alarmed about Russia and China's strategic ambitions, Western armed forces and intelligence services are gearing up to respond to future conflicts through the use of intelligence, influence and cyber-operations.
The October launch of the NSA's new Cybersecurity Directorate has placed the security agency as the US's main line of protection against cyberthreats, a rung above the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
