General Terms & Conditions

1. Intellectual property

The publications Africa Intelligence, Glitz, Intelligence Online and La Lettre are the exclusive property of Indigo Publications. All their content is protected under French and international copyright and intellectual property law.

Subscribing to an annual subscription - regardless of what type of subscription it is - does not involve any transfer of property rights of any kind to the Client (the term “Client” covers any beneficiary or administrator of a Subscription Licence).

2. Distribution terms

Africa Intelligence, Glitz, Intelligence Online and La Lettre content may be consulted within the context of the following subscription packages:

SUBSECTION 1: SUBSCRIPTION OFFERS

A number of subscription offers are available to allow you to read our publications all year long and with unlimited access.

a. TEAM LICENCE

The Team Licence subscription allows employees to access our publication via the number of professional emails specified in your invoice. These individuals, linked to the subscribing legal entity, must be selected from within the same department. For organisations with fewer than five employees, they may be from any department within the organisation. The terms of subscription are defined by our sales team and included in the invoice.

Each licence has an appointed administrator in charge of managing the subscription for the selected department or legal entity. This person manages the account and can update the organisation's reader list directly online.

For its part, Indigo Publications commits to communicate only with the administrator for subscription management (billing, renewal procedures, etc.).

Each account in the licence is linked to an individual professional email address (e.g., [email protected]), allowing each reader to select the online services pertinent to them and personalised their user experience.

b. GLOBAL LICENCE

The Global Licence subscription provides unlimited access to our publication. There is no cap on the number of accounts that can be activated; collective access options are available for entire departments or organisations, such as a corporate headquarters and its subsidiaries or all departments within a governmental agency. The terms of the subscription are defined by our sales team and included in the invoice.

The Global Licence provides a number of premium advantages: centralised account management, the possibility of combining several connection methods, a daily RSS feed, a PDF download option and personalised assistance.

Multiple authentication methods can be used based on the needs of each organisation:

  • Individual access via a professional email address (e.g., [email protected]) allows each reader to select the online services pertinent to them and personalise their user experience.
  • Grouped access via a collective email address (e.g., [email protected]) provides multiple readers with simultaneous access to our publication without the use of individual email addresses.
  • Automatic connection via one or more IP addresses and/or EZProxy provides immediate access to our publication.

c. LICENCE FOR MEDIA OUTLETS / UNIVERSITIES

Designed for editorial teams, universities and employee representative bodies (Business and Social Councils), we offer a cost-effective subscription to enable wide distribution of our information. Our non-cumulative connection options can be tailored to the needs and systems in place at each establishment: IP ranges, EZProxy, RSS feeds or, if the number of authorised readers is specified, individual email addresses.

SUBSECTION 2: E-WALLET

The E-wallet offer is a prepaid account that can be used to buy articles separately. In June 2024, the ability to credit an electronic wallet was removed, making the annual subscriptions described in "SUBSECTION 1" the only means of reading articles published by Indigo Publications.

The remaining monetary credit for e-wallet holders has been converted into a number of articles to read, on the basis of EUR/GBP/USD 4.5 = 1 article. This credit can be used by our e-wallet customers across all our websites, with no time limit. The number of articles remaining is updated in real-time.

No refunds will be made on the balance of the E-wallet. However, remaining credit can be deducted from a subscription offer.

SUBSECTION 3: FREE ACCOUNTS

Should additional accesses be granted free of charge, a supplementary reader account—verified by an active email address (temporary or disposable email addresses not included) and a secure password—must be created. To activate the new reader account, click on the link sent in the verification email to complete the process. The collection of personal data is strictly limited to the configuration of access to our services. In accordance with the protection standards applicable to paying subscribers, it is never shared with third parties.

3. Extraction and indexing restrictions

Subscribers may access a database containing Africa Intelligence, Glitz, Intelligence Online and La Lettre archives as part of their Licence.

However, by virtue of Article L.342-1 of Law No. 98-536 of July 1, 1998 of the French Intellectual Property Code, Indigo Publications prohibits “the extraction, by the permanent or temporary transfer of all or a substantial part, qualitatively or quantitatively, of the contents of a database to another medium, by any means or in any form”.

In concrete terms, the use of robots or manual methods to extract a substantial part of Indigo Publications’ databases is strictly prohibited, unless prior written consent has been given.

4. Authorised readers’ liabilities

All readers included within the subscription licence must agree to respect the number of readers listed in the quote. In addition, information may only be shared between readers within the same licence. For example, in the case of a ten-reader subscription licence, a reader may only share information with the other nine readers and the account administrator.

Outside of these parameters, full editions and individual articles may not be shared within the organisation at large, whether by email, print, intranet or any other means of communication. They may not be distributed to third parties (extranet, website, blog, social networks), with the exception of quotes or short excerpts that include the link to our website. Readers commit to keeping their password secret and refraining from sharing it with third parties.

5. LIABILITIES SPECIFIC TO THE LICENCE ADMINISTRATOR

The Administrator responsible for managing a Licence guarantees the acceptance and respect of the present Terms and Conditions by all readers authorised as part of this Licence.

6. SUBSCRIPTION AND LICENCE MANAGEMENT

All orders of a Subscription Licence involve full and unreserved acceptance of the present Terms and Conditions.

Start Date – The Subscription Licence takes effect from reception of the order when this is a new Subscription. For renewals, the new Subscription Licence takes effect from the previous Licence. For any other arrangement (retroactive Subscription, other specified start date etc.), specify these at the time of the order.

Cancellations – Orders for Subscription Licences are deemed firm and final as soon as they are received by Indigo Publications. According to French law, a Client may exercise the right to cancel a contract within 14 days of the order. The Client may be liable to a fee in proportion to the duration of the Subscription Licence between the date the order was registered and the date it was cancelled.

7. Terms of Payment

An invoice for the Subscription Licence is issued at the time the service is instated. This invoice is available in PDF format on the website's "My account" page. It can also be sent by Indigo Publications to the Client (or invoicing contact specified at the time of subscription). Please refer any invoice requests to [email protected].

Delays in Payment - Payment of the Subscription Licence is due upon receipt of the invoice and must be made within 30 days upon receipt. In the event of a late payment, the Subscription Licence will be suspended until the invoice has been paid in full. If the Customer holds several subscriptions, failure to pay any one subscription within this period shall lead to the suspension of all current subscriptions until receipt of the overdue payment.

Mode of Payment - Indigo Publications accepts payment in euros (EUR), US dollars (USD) and pounds sterling (GBP), using the following methods:

- Bank Transfer. Any transfer costs charged by the Client's bank are payable by the Client.

- Credit Card:

  • Visa, Mastercard
  • American Express (only in EUR or USD)
  • - Bank check to the order of Indigo Publications

    - PayPal

(For any other mode of payment, please contact customer services).

    8. Personal data and privacy

Indigo Publications undertakes to comply with the laws protecting privacy and individual freedom, and in particular with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which entered into force in the European Union in May 2018. Only Indigo Publications staff, who are subject to strict confidentiality rules, have access to customer and prospect information. No data processing is outsourced to third party companies. Indigo Publications commits itself to not disclose to third parties any information communicated to the company by the Client (whether an Administrator or Reader).

In keeping with the French law on information technology, data files and civil liberties established on 6 January 1978, Clients have the right to access, rectify and update personal data pertaining to them. They may refuse to receive promotional material by modifying their personal information online or by sending a request to customer service.
